A British explorer, Allan Quatermain (John Colicos), leads an expedition into the African continent to find a lost treasure. While following their path, guided by a mysterious medallion, Quatermain and his group encounter wild animals, savage natives and living dinosaurs. Eventually discovering the treasure is buried underneath a lost city located in a volcano, the expedition must also contend with the cities' residents and their Phoenician Queen (Britt Ekland).
